Wild Food and Finnish Mythologies
Join the traditional Kalevalapidot, enjoy a 3-course menu and get to know the songs and stories of the Finnish mythologies. First spend a moment outdoors by the campfire and enjoy herbal drink with appetizer. Then come in the log house of Wäinölä and get to know the stories of the Kalevala, Finland's national epic. Learn about the creation myth of the world and the main characters of the Kalevala. Folkmusician Ulla Hillebrandt will tell stories, play violin and traditional instruments and sing songs from the past.
DINNER
At Kalevalapidot you will enjoy 3-course wild food dinner served on wooden boards. You will taste moose meat, whitefish, forest mushrooms and berries. All the food is lactose-free, you can also have your dinner gluten free and for the main course we have a vegetarian option. WÄINÖLÄ
Wäinölä is a unique venue in the middle of the forest, next to the Nuuksio National Park. In the log-house of Wäinölä there is room for 40 people in 4 big tables and a big fireplace brings atmosphere and warmth. Outside there are 2 campfire places , where you can enjoy appetizers before moving indoors. Wäinölä is a wheelchair-frendly venue.

Starter: Bread with gravad whitefish
Main course: Fillet of moose, roasted potatoes and honey carrots, forest mushroom sauce and rowanberry jam
